Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa marked Eid al-Fitr with a traditional Jaafaiy feast for associates, alongside the launch of a new Recreation Committee aimed at enhancing employee wellbeing.
The celebration, held on March 20 at the resort’s futsal ground, brought together staff for a communal dining experience centred around the Malaafaiy, a traditional Maldivian serving presentation symbolising unity and abundance. The event also featured a cultural dance performance by associates, adding a festive dimension to the gathering.
Resort leadership, including General Manager Greg Allan, Resort Manager Ajay Sharma and Director of Human Resources Hassan Shareef, participated by personally serving food to team members, reinforcing the event’s focus on appreciation and inclusivity.
The occasion also marked the inauguration of the Sheraton Recreation Committee, comprising 15 representatives across departments. The committee will organise recreational activities and initiatives aligned with Marriott International’s TakeCare programme, with a focus on promoting work-life balance and employee wellbeing.
The initiative reflects ongoing efforts within the hospitality sector to strengthen internal culture and enhance employee engagement, particularly in remote island environments.
