InterContinental Maldives Maamunagau Resort has unveiled a new astrology-inspired travel concept for 2026, as resorts increasingly adapt to demand for personalised and experience-driven tourism.
The “Zodiac Stays” programme is structured around the four elemental groups, Earth, Water, Fire and Air, with each category offering curated experiences aligned with guest personality traits. The initiative reflects a shift away from traditional resort stays towards more immersive and meaningful travel experiences.
For Earth signs, the programme focuses on grounding and indulgent experiences such as sunrise yoga, private sandbank dining and guided wine tastings. Water signs are offered emotionally immersive activities including sunset cruises, diving experiences and sound healing sessions.
Fire signs are catered to through high-energy activities such as watersports and interactive culinary experiences, while Air signs are encouraged to explore creative and social experiences, including mixology classes and manta ray snorkelling excursions.
The concept aligns with a broader cultural trend where travellers increasingly seek self-discovery, wellness and personal connection through travel. By integrating astrology into its offering, the resort is positioning itself within a niche segment of experiential luxury.
Packages for the programme start from USD 1,290 per night for an overwater pool villa, including meals for two. The resort expects the initiative to attract travellers looking for customised, purpose-driven experiences that go beyond conventional leisure travel.
