The Maldives is set to strengthen air connectivity with Germany as Condor Airlines resumes direct summer flights between Frankfurt and Malé for the 2026 season, reintroducing a key European route after several years of absence.
According to Condor’s Summer 2026 long-haul schedule, flights will operate from Frankfurt to Velana International Airport multiple times per week, with services scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The seasonal operation is set to run from 1 May to 31 October 2026, aligning with peak outbound travel demand during the European summer period.
The return of Condor’s Maldives route follows sustained engagement with German travel trade partners, particularly tour operators that continue to play a central role in driving demand from one of the Maldives’ most established source markets. Germany has consistently remained a strong contributor to tourist arrivals, supported by a mature travel ecosystem and a high rate of repeat visitation.
Industry stakeholders expect the additional airlift to support increased visitor flows during the summer months. This period has seen rising interest in recent years, driven by competitive pricing, favourable travel packages and an expanding range of accommodation options across both resorts and guesthouses.
Direct connectivity from Frankfurt is also expected to enhance accessibility from wider European feeder markets, leveraging Germany’s position as a major aviation hub. The route provides structured distribution channels through established partnerships with German tour operators, supporting both volume and value-driven travel segments.
Condor’s return signals broader confidence in the Maldives as a stable and high-demand destination within the long-haul leisure market. The development comes at a time when the country continues to record strong tourism performance, while parts of the Middle East air corridor face operational disruptions that have affected travel flows.
Additional direct connectivity from Europe is expected to improve routing flexibility and reliability for travellers, helping to sustain access to the Maldives and support continued growth across key source markets.
With the resumption of Condor’s summer operations, the Maldives is positioned to further consolidate its presence in the German market while offering travellers expanded options for direct access during the 2026 travel season.
