Kuredhivaru Resort & Spa will host a four-day Easter art residency featuring Maldivian watercolor artist Shimha Shakeeb, offering guests an immersive cultural experience from April 4 to 7.
The residency will introduce guests to Maldivian heritage through a series of curated activities including live painting sessions, interactive workshops and children’s art classes. Private sessions will also be available, allowing participants to work directly with the artist to create personalised pieces under her guidance.
Shimha Shakeeb is widely recognised for her watercolor works depicting Maldivian landscapes, architecture and cultural elements. Her portfolio includes exhibitions at Dubai Expo 2020, Crossroads Maldives and the National Art Gallery in Malé. She has also collaborated with institutions and luxury resorts including The Ritz-Carlton Maldives.
According to the resort, the residency is designed to provide guests with a hands-on engagement with local culture while encouraging creative exploration across different age groups. The programme integrates artistic expression with the natural setting of the island, positioning the experience as both educational and recreational.
The initiative reflects a broader trend among resorts to incorporate cultural programming into guest experiences, aligning hospitality offerings with creative and heritage-driven engagement.
